iceovekan10 Mar : 00:14Thanks! TX and War. Computer is on the mend.
As for SWG rating a bust. I guess, the whole NGE thing still leaves a bitter taste in people's mouths.
iceovekan10 Mar : 00:13TX... I do have comcast and the Norton did the trick. I'm a cheapo. Yeah. That AV.exe is a nasty nasty virus. No more looking for celebrity wallpapers.
TheTruthHurtz10 Mar : 00:06Man it sucks SWG got number 1 on disappointing games. Won't help the player base at all. With TOR coming out the new player will without a doubt flock to it. I think TOR will be a good game. I dont' think it will be a great one. Bioware is making the same mistake all MMO's are making. They are trying to recreate wow. One of main things I like about SOE is the Sandbox aspect of it and the seperate crafting professions. TOR looks like it will be a duel profession game that allows you to go out and mine gold or wood or whatever they wanna call there resources. I was extremly disappointed in that. I don't see any type of real community in TOR like there is in swg.
TX-11409 Mar : 20:52My wife had that a couple weeks ago and it took 4 different AV programs to clean it all out, or so I thought, because they all missed the keylogger until I installed the freebie Norton Suite (from Comcast) which caught the keylogger file. So I decided it was finally time to upgrade her to Win7 and wiped her drive to be 100% sure. Norton SS has impressed me a lot, its even prevented another rogue redirect page from installing that scareware again.
iceovekan09 Mar : 19:48cools thanks warlorn. I'll try that
Warlorn09 Mar : 15:16ice i had that and bout spyware doctor it removed it fine
Callis09 Mar : 11:44I was about to complain about my morning. It was about my car being frozen....
I guess I won't now. Computer viruses suck.
iceovekan09 Mar : 10:49Arrgggh... My computer got infected with the XP Antivus 2010 rogue scare ware. I was looking for wallpapers of Jane Leeves... It's almost impossible to take out and Norton Internet Security can't remove it. Bah. Looking at wiping my drive as a last resort. But for now can't do internet transaction stuff till my computer is secure (i.e. credit card stuff)
Callis09 Mar : 10:13Thank you Jod.

Jod09 Mar : 07:32Callis, you have full access here now, enjoy!
Vince09 Mar : 06:57On another note, the era where jedi were everywhere would slot into the market needs very nicely. Everyone wants to be a jedi (as the officer salute stats also shows) so having the timeline where everyone was a jedi would saturate that desire.
There was a time where +35% were jedi. Even today, Jedi stands at a massive 25% of the officers listed, which just speaks volumes about what class players want to play.
Jedi due to the Luke Skywalker effect. Everyone wants to be their own hero.
Vince09 Mar : 06:51TOR's combat system was taken from Mass Effect and works pretty well. So was the companion part. Im unsure what the multiplayer aspect of SWTOR will be but if Mass Effect is anything to go by (which is a great game btw) it will give gamers a customizable gaming experience as per KOTOR series with a new brushup on many things - and as with Mass Effect and the KOTOR games. It has an ending.
I love the Mass Effect engine because it gives the players so much choice over their stories but outside of replaying the game with multiple endings there isn't really much replay value to it.
dakii08 Mar : 21:26To be fair and balanced (heh), I do have to point out that SOE used to be a powerhouse game company before Blizzard hit the MMO market. I expect the game will be fun for me, but I am unsure it will change the face of the market, as other forum fans have been quick to note.
Callis08 Mar : 21:19I have great faith in TOR. BioWare is gold. LA has (hopefully) learned from SWG.
I am excited.
dakii08 Mar : 20:51I know I am a fanboy for TOR, but I do have to say that at least it's in a time period where more sith and jedi where around, and not post order 66. From the dev video's it looks to me like the combat looks more polished than most games as well. As for how it will play, only time will tell.
Thornos08 Mar : 19:45on the disappointing games and swg, it was bound to happen when they decided to:
A) originally make jedi a hidden grind profession

let everyone be a jedi
to me those 2 issues define the failure, the expectations were so high there was no meeting them. I am afraid we will see the same problem with SW:TOR, a glance at their current boards is like flashing back to swg beta boards
Jod08 Mar : 17:47/agree Thornos. I need to try to give him RL versions of all the Facebook app stuff that he bombards me with daily.
Jod08 Mar : 17:11
Thornos08 Mar : 16:51Virrago gets to come to FF this year, we need to have some fun with that fact
iceovekan08 Mar : 09:50Mondays... a case of the Mondays...
Jod08 Mar : 09:08LOL
TheTruthHurtz08 Mar : 03:22I would not poke it with a stick; and I will not shall not with my d!@k.
Callis07 Mar : 19:33That's what she said.
